I feel so depressed that my family will lose our house

Guest Blogger: Diane LeVitus

Hi my name is Diane, my husband Russ have thought of everything we can do to save our house. We refinanced most of the $420 000 I own on an adjustable rate loan to a safe fixed 30 year fixed rate mortgage. We have taken our $80 000 emergency fund; education fund from our 20 month old son and took out thousands out of our 401k to put towards are mortgage. In the end, our family will lose the 3 bedroom home to foreclosure. My husband take home pay is $5000 per month, I work as a Bowen Therapist, my average take home page is $3000. We can no longer keep up with our $5,200 monthly mortgage payments.

I look back and wonder how did my husband and I even end up getting the mortgage that we did. I am crying right now because the movers have started to come in to move all our furniture and belongings out of our home. Luckily, we can stay for the mean while at our aunts house in the outskirts of the city. I am just grateful my aunt who is a spinster was very savvy with money and owns her home out right otherwise our family would be on the streets. I will come back in a few days to tell you what we plan to do. Thanks for listening!
